Yoga and Meditation Meets Science - Anatomy of Yoga

Everyone learns differently, studying about yoga and meditation is no
various. Some people try out yoga because their pals are attempting
it - word-of-mouth is sufficient to get them began.

Other people select to begin yoga and meditation driven primarily by a health
scare, or perhaps a persistent health condition such as back again discomfort, arthritis -
even temporary circumstances such as weight loss and pregnancy can
benefit from yoga and meditation.

Then, there are these (and I occur to drop into this camp) who like
to know WHY some thing works. Not necessarily a scientist, but
we would like to know sufficient concerning the premise of yoga and meditation
to become able to satisfy our own minds and more essential, any skeptics
out there, why yoga and meditation has an impact on your mind and physique.

I just completed reading "Anatomy of Hatha Yoga" by H David Coulter,
and let me say, this was a perfect level of explanation and detail
that helps me to better understand (in lay man's conditions) how the
various aspects of yoga effect our bodies.

One of the most common problems I've experienced is tight shoulders
or shoulder "kinks" and stiff necks. Early on, it became obvious
that yoga and meditation aided tremendously with this particular persistent 20+
year-old issue.

Yoga helps back, shoulder and neck discomfort in two primary ways: decreasing
stress top to chemical build-up inside your muscle tissue and joints and
stretches that keep muscles loose and limber. A combinaton of
meditation, breathing and yoga asanas that concentrate on upper physique
stretching are extremely efficient in reducing this discomfort.

Its an excellent guide worthy of anyone who's nonetheless skeptical or simply
just thinking about a psuedo medical explanation of how yoga impacts
your body.
